I recently found a podcast on both these recorders on the Blind Cool Tech web site. From what I heard they sound extremely accessible, complete with a pleasant, British female voice in the menus. My question is to those others who've used either of these recorders. I'm seriously considering purchasing one of these models since not only are they cheap but they also have a fairly decent reputation for durability. My real question though is if the accessibility features, meaning the speech in the menus, active by default. I just want to be sure that if I purchase one of these that I'll be able to go in and adjust the recording settings and other settings I may need to change, right away, or if someone would have to go into the menus to turn the speech on. Hopefully the former. I want to be able to record my guitar practices and things and, while I won't deny that the Edirol R09 is an excellent recorder, it's not what I'd call accessible despite the fact that the menus don't wrap. That and I don't think it can hold very big SD cards.
